Opening a brew pub is not an easy task and some enthusiasts might even quit the idea after further consideration. There are many things to do when opening a place in which drinks and food is served. Also, apart from the documentation one needs to do in order to comply with the law in what concerns consumer safety, hygiene and so on, one might consider reading a few feasibility tests when it comes to trying to assess just how successful one’s business will be depending on the location, population and so on. American Brewers Guild came up with a survey that could help those intending to open a brew pub take more aspects into consideration before starting the business.

The survey found that the brew pubs located in a 15 mile radius population are more likely to have more success. The average per capita income, the percentage of population in the target age group and the per capita consumption all matter. Also, one needs to consider how many other successful restaurants, bars, pubs and brew pubs there are in the area. Having too much competition from the beginning could mean the end of the business unless one comes up with an idea that can crack the market. Nevertheless, proximity to downtown areas, tourist attractions and so on could also play an important role in bringing customers in or keeping them away.

There are obviously many things to consider before opening a business, especially when this includes selling drinks and food. This type of business is more difficult to start than others because there are plenty of regulations that one needs to fulfill in order for to be able to start selling these products. But, one should always keep in mind that recent studies showed that the food can also be a determining success factor for a brew pub.
